American Chopsuey ( Jain Recipe)






Introduction:

America meets china in chop suey. Add a jain influence to it, and you have an amazing blend of cultures!
 
Cooking Time:30 Min
Serves: 2 people

Ingredients:

   For The Sauce


·         1/2 cup white vinegar
·         1/2 cup sugar

·         1 cup water

·         1 tbsp cornflour

·         2 tbsp tomato ketchup

·         2 tbsp soy sauce

·         salt to taste



 

Main Ingredients:




·         1 cup finely shredded cabbage

·        1/2 cup thinly sliced capsicum

·        1/2 cup thinly sliced baby corn

·         1/4 cup boiled and sliced french beans

·         1/4 cup boiled cauliflower florets

·         2 tbsp chopped celery

·         3/4 cup boiled noodles , refer handy tip

·         2 tsp chilli sauce

·         1 1/2 cups fried noodles , refer handy tip

·         2 tbsp oil

·         salt to taste


 
Preparation:

For the sauce :
Place all the ingredients of the sauce in a wok, mix well and put to boil. Cook while stirring continuously until the sauce thickens. Keep aside.

For main dish:
1.       Heat the oil in a wok, add in all the vegetables and cook on a high flame for 3 to 4 minutes.
2.       Add in the prepared sauce, chilli sauce and salt.
3.       Cook for 1 minute and mix in boiled noodles.
4.       Switch of the flame and mix half of the fried noodles.
5.       Serve hot topped with remaining fried noodles.
